Physical chemistry
Physical chemistry has its mathematics for a purpose: there must be a sufficient mathematical foundation in the subject for our ideas about the behavior of molecules and systems to stand up to experimental verification. Ideas that cannot be tested do not belong to science. However, in the introductory discussion, ideas should not be burdened by mathematics. In this text the author shows how physics ideas can be developed mathematically, in interpreting the mathematical statements made. It is only when mathematics and chemistry forget each other that physical chemistry becomes a difficult subject, so the author of this book tries not to let that happen.
