Buku Non-ketenaganukliran
Biology the science of life
In this edition, the book has maintained the evolutionary theme of the first edition. The first eight chapters have been extensively reorganized to more effectively introduce the basic chemistry of life. It also increased the depth of existing material, not just in chemistry and energetics but in evolution and botany as well. The book has greatly increased our coverage of the nervous system and has expanded areas of ecology and population dynamics. We trust that the result is a more useful tool in the effort to explain the fascinating and often complex principles of life.
This edition has divided the material into 42 manageable chapters and has paid special attention to pedagogical aids that help get the material across. Each chapter begins with a brief introduction that orients the student toward new topics. Within each chapter, key terms appear in bold type, and we have made an effort to summarize detailed discussions within the text, where appropriate. Each figure now carries a brief title (in addition to a complete caption) so that readers can quickly identify what is being illustrated.
