Pengaruh nitridasi plasma terhadap laju korosi logam seng
Telah dilakukan penelitian mengenai pengaruh nitridasi plasma terhadap laju korosi logam seng. Penelitian ini dilakukan dengan tujuan mengetahui pengaruh nitridasi plasma terhadap laju korosi logam seng dalam medium pengkorosi H2SO4 0,001 M dan 0,005 M. Cuplikan berupa logam seng berbentuk lingkaran berdiameter 1,4 cm, dinitridasi plasma dengan variasi waktu (15, 30, 45, 60, dan 75 menit) dan suhu (150, 200, 250, dan 300oC). Uji korosi dilakukan dengan alat potensiostat PGS 201T dalam medium pengkorosi H2SO4 0,001 M dan 0,005 M. Cuplikan tanpa nitridasi dan yang telah dinitridasi diuji korosi dalam medium H2SO4 0,001 M dan 0,005 M. rnDari hasil penelitian diketahui arus korosi logam seng yang tidak dinitridasi selama 45 menit, suhu 200oC, dalam H2SO4 0,001 M sebesar 43,22 A/cm2 dan setelah dinitridasi arus korosi menjadi 0,23 A/cm2 yang berarti terjadi kenaikan ketahanan korosi sekitar 187,5 kali. Dalam H2SO4 0,005 M arus korosi sebelum nitridasi sebesar 104,99 A/cm2 dan setelah dilakukan nitridasi selama 15 menit, suhu 250oC arus korosi menjadi 27,89 A/cm2. Hal ini berarti terjadi kenaikan ketahanan korosi sebesar 3,5 kali. Secara keseluruhan, proses nitridasi plasma logam seng mampu meningkatkan ketahanan korosi logam seng.
The influence of plasma nitridation on zinc corrosion process have been done. The research were done to know the influence of plasma nitridation on zinc corrosion process in the 0,001 M and 0,005 M of H2SO4 as corrosion media. zinc sample with 1,4 cm of diameter were treated by plasma nitridation in variable of time and temperatures. The variables of time were 15, 30, 45, 60, dan 75 minutes and the variables of temperatures were 150, 200, 250, and 300oC. The corrosion tested by potensiostat PGS 201T. The nitridation samples and non-nitridation samples were treated by 0,001 M and 0,005 M of corrosion media.rn It was found that non-nitridation samples treated with 0,001 M H2SO4 of media during 45 minutes and 200oC of temperature showed 43,22 A/cm2 of current density. Whereas nitridation treatment rises the current density to 0,23 A/cm2. It has mean that corrosion resistance 187,5 times higher. In the H2SO4 0,005 M solution the current density before nitridation treated as long as 15 minutes with 250oC of temperature showed the current density was 27,89 A/cm2. It was mean that corrosion resistance rises 3,5 times higher. In general, plasma nitridation process of zinc metal could be increase corrosion resistance of zinc metal.
